The 2020 World Press Freedom Day is on Saturday, May 3. This day is mandated by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) as a day to put press freedom issues into focus — to educate our communities about the important contribution that a free and independent media plays in society.

As an organization we’ve had the privilege for many years to hold an event around this time in honor of the hundreds of men and women who gather and report the news throughout the African continent. This includes journalists, bloggers, activists, people in civil society, governmental as well as non-governmental organizations, academia, and more.
